Core Committee

The Office of Student Activities & Involvement is looking for student leaders to serve on the Core Committee for IMPACT 2018.  This is an excellent opportunity for upperclassmen who are passionate about helping new multicultural students successfully transition into Central Michigan University.

Chairs

Position Overview: Will be the leaders of the Core Committee in the implementation of the IMPACT program, overseeing the coordinators and guiding them through the planning process.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior+ classification 
  • Must have at least at 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated involvement on campus
  • Must work well on a team as well as autonomously
  • Ability to lead your peers
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Must be able to work during Fall 2017 & Spring 2018 semesters and be back on campus by June 4th, 2018
  • Be available to attend Next Steps programming in Spring 2018 to recruit incoming students to register
  • Must attend Leadership Institute’s LeaderShape, May 7-12th, 2018

Compensation: $11.00/hour

Program Chair Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Workshop and Entertainment Coordinators
  • Oversees Workshop coordination.
  • Oversees Entertainment coordination.
  • Assists with contracts for entertainment and speakers.

Administrative Chair Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Social Media and Registration Coordinators.
  • Oversees Social Media output and designs.
  • Oversees Registration logistics.
  • Manages participant giveaways and designs.

Coordinators

Position Overview: Will be the lead student in their respective areas.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior+ classification 
  • Must have at least at 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated involvement on campus
  • Must work well on a team as well as autonomously
  • Ability to lead your peers
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Must be able to work during Fall 2017 & Spring 2018 semesters and be back on campus by July 16th, 2018

Compensation: $9.00/hour

Workshop Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Organize workshops for participants to attend and communication with presenters
  • Coordinate Keynote Speakers and their electrical or hospitable needs.
  • Coordinate Alumni sessions and communication for supplies, lodging, and travel needs.
  • Supervises the Workshop Assistant.

Entertainment Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Provide entertainment ideas for the program.
  • Coordinate the “IMPACT Family Reunion” activities.
  • Coordinate the “Lock-In” activities and agencies contracted.
  • Supervises the Entertainment Assistant

Social Media Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Manage all IMPACT social media platforms.
  • Be creative and able to create social media campaigns.
  • Ability to design social media graphics and flyers.

Registration Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Manage participant registration forms, additions or cancellations.
  • Handle participant questions and communication.
  • Coordinate logistics of day of check in for participants.
  • Supervises Registration Assistant.

Key Team Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Create a logistics schedule for the two-day program for Key Team members
  • Will lead the Key Team during the two-day program.
  • Coordinate the supplies needed from the Core Committee and purchase of supplies.
  • Supervises Key Team Assistant.

Mentor Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Manage communication with mentors during the two-day program.
  • Be able to facilitate training activities for mentors.
  • Handle any discrepancies for mentors.

Assistants

Position Overview: Will assist coordinators in the planning process. 

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior+ classification 
  • Must have at least at 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated involvement on campus
  • Must work well on a team as well as autonomously
  • Ability to lead your peers
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Must be able to work during Spring 2018 semester and be back on campus by July 30th, 2018
  • Be available to attend Next Steps programming in Spring 2018 to recruit incoming students to register
  • Must attend Leadership Institute’s LeaderShape, May 7-12th, 2018

Compensation: $8.50/hour

Workshop Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organizing workshops for participants.
  • Assist with Keynote Speakers coordination.
  • Assist with Alumni session coordination. 

Entertainment Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assist with entertainment ideas for the program.
  • Assist with coordination of the “IMPACT Family Reunion”.
  • Assist with coordination of the “Lock-In”.
